Department of State Encourages Participation in Election on National Voter Registration Day

Secretary of State Ken Detzner released the following statement to encourage all eligible Floridians to register to vote or to check their voter status today on National Voter Registration Day. The Department of State’s Division of Elections also kicked off an online Voter Information Campaign today leading to YourVoteFlorida.com to educate voters about the resources that are available to assist in voting. The website is also available in Spanish. The online campaign, “Get Ready. Get Set. Vote!” informs voters about how to prepare before voting absentee, voting at the polls during early voting, or on Election Day.

“As Chief Election Officer, I encourage all eligible Floridians to register to vote or to check their voter registration status before October 6,” said Secretary of State Ken Detzner. “Through our voter information campaign, voters will have access to the information they need to prepare to vote and to find out their options prior to voting absentee or voting at the polls. Voting is a clear expression of our liberty and an opportunity for every voice to be heard.”
