Elsie Rogers

Grant Specialist V


Elsie joined the Division’s staff October 2012. Prior to her work at the Division, she was the Legislative Liaison and Grants Manager of Professional Development grants for the Division of Career and Adult Education, Florida Department of Education. Before going to the Department of Education, she was a legislative analyst in the Florida House of Representatives.

Elsie earned a Bachelors Degree in English/Writing and a Masters in Creative Writing/Poetry from Florida State University. As an adjunct, she has taught writing at Florida State University and Tallahassee Community College. Elsie has a passion for poetry and all sports. She is currently playing on a USTA tennis team and does so year round.

Elsie is a native Floridian. She was born in Panama City but has lived in Tallahassee since 1972. She has two sons and 4 grandchildren. She feels blessed that they all live in Tallahassee.
