Ginny earned her PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Southern Mississippi’s Center for Writers in 1996 and moved to Tallahassee shortly thereafter. Since then, she has enjoyed a diverse career bringing poetry, journal writing and art to underserved populations through programming work with the Florida Department of Corrections and Department of Health. Ginny has also published numerous poems in small presses nationally and served as a Visiting Professor in Creative Writing at Florida State University from 2001 to 2005. She finds her every day joy in creating meaning and value in small, overlooked things and finding the magic in tiny moments with her teenaged daughter, Eliot. Ginny joined the Division in the fall of 2015.
