Artist's Statement

Born in Altamura, Count Vincenzo Viti began his artistic career with seriousness, trusting in the expression of his deepest feelings. After his first artistic period, which was characterized by a total and explosive chromatism, Vincenzo Viti arrived at a pictorial expression so simple that a little daub of paint is enough to capture the vast and profound universe of the human spirit.

Artist's Biography

Born in Altamura, Count Vincenzo Viti began his artistic career with seriousness, trusting in the expression of his deepest feelings. After his first artistic period, which was characterized by a total and explosive chromatism, Vincenzo Viti arrived at a pictorial expression so simple that a little daub of paint is enough to capture the vast and profound universe of the human spirit. Blue dominates his canvases. The color acts as an invisible bridge connecting the viewer to the magical realm of emotions, or simply as a veil enveloping the great mysteries of the heart. However, his brush does not know how to free itself from his earlier style and sometimes fluctuates between the "then and now," in the attempt to find the path of the future. As in the Italian expression: like a wandering Romeo toward Jerusalem in an immortal painting.

He was nominated to the Accademico Gentilizio by the International Academy of Florence for his artistic excellence.
