Reference Collection

The State Library's Reference Collection puts all kinds of information at your fingertips, whether you want to know what the highest point in Florida is or about the country's historic black newspapers.

These books are available for you to use during your visit to the State Library, but they generally cannot be checked out. However, they may be loaned briefly to state agency staff or to other libraries.

Below are several categories of reference books we own:

  • Directories
  • Statistical databooks
  • Almanacs
  • Encyclopedias
  • And more

For additional resources, please visit the Florida Electronic Library. This service is free for all Floridians, and it contains many encyclopedias and other reference works online.
