Teaching Artists (Vocal; multiple)
|Deadline||September 3, 2021|
|Sponsor||Palm Beach Opera|
|Location||West Palm Beach , FL|
Teaching Artists play a fundamental role in Palm Beach Opera’s work within the greater Palm Beach County area (and beyond). As a practicing artist and performer, your knowledge, experience, and point-of-view help to shape the future of opera education for children, families, and neighbors across the County.
Teaching Artists deliver programming independently and in teams to various sized groups of varying age levels and abilities in schools, community centers, and cultural organizations. Teaching includes strategy planning with Palm Beach Opera staff and may include: attending professional development sessions, carrying out administrative responsibilities (such as written lessons plans, assessments, and invoices), meeting with Palm Beach Opera Staff, and other duties as needed.
Teaching Artists, acting as Independent Contractors, are paid $20/hr for planning and preparation and $65/hr for program delivery and instruction. Teaching Artists are typically engaged in 1—4 programs per month with anticipated growth in the 21-22 season. Story Time Series programs typically run during school hours (9AM—3PM Eastern Time) Monday through Friday; other programs run at-will and may have varied times, including during a traditional work day.
