Store Properly

Use acid-free folders and boxes to store papers.

Use albums or scrapbooks made from acid-free stock for photographs, clippings and other paper-based items.

NEVER use “magnetic” albums with adhesive pages to store important documents or photos, as the adhesive will permanently damage your items.

Store books vertically or, for large or heavy books, flats or spine down, to avoid damaging the spine.

Store tapes standing upright (like books) to protect them from damaging dirt, dust or gasses.
