American Archives Month

Our theme for American Archives Month 2022, Your Archives, Your History, Your Government, explores how citizens engage in shaping government and how historical records illustrate that engagement.

American Archives Month happens every October to recognize archivists and their work to preserve the unique historical records that document our history, make transparent government possible, form the foundations of our freedoms, and enshrine our rights as citizens and the responsibilities and limitations of government.

Many of these resources and programs are funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida's LSTA program is administered by the Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services.
