Mental Nourishment

It’s no secret that libraries are no longer just about books. Patrons want to cultivate their minds beyond the written word.

Libraries are constantly reinventing themselves to meet their patrons’ needs. Florida Libraries as Mental Nourishment explores the unique, mind-expanding services and programs libraries offer, such as:

  • Makerspaces, which provide patrons with places to gather and share ideas and with tools to bring those ideas to life.
  • Seed libraries patrons can borrow from to start their own gardens.
  • Interest-based gatherings, such as comic/nerd conventions, where patrons can network with like-minded people.
