Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee Designates Ormond Beach MainStreet as Florida Main Street Program of the Month

Tallahassee –

Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee announced today that the Ormond Beach MainStreet program has been designated the September 2019 Florida Main Street Program of the Month. Programs are selected based on their development achievements and participation in the Florida Main Street program.

“Ormond Beach MainStreet is a vibrant community dedicated to historic preservation and economic development,” said Secretary of State Laurel M. Lee. “Their commitment to the Main Street Four Point Approach of Economic Vitality, Design, Organization and Promotion has successfully transformed their district.”

Ormond Beach, Florida

Ormond Beach MainStreet has seen tremendous success over the last 24 years. Their district measures approximately 1.8 miles and is home to restaurants, retail shops and professional and city offices. Since its establishment in 1995, the program has generated more than $82.7 million of private and public investment, 142 new businesses, 1,333 jobs and more than 12,000 volunteer hours.

Ormond Beach MainStreet is gearing up for the 11th Annual Riverfest Seafood Festival on November 16th and 17th at the riverside Rockefeller Gardens and Fortunato Park. The two-day event focuses on fresh local food and live music. Last year, the event drew more than 12,000 visitors to the area.

“Ormond Beach MainStreet entered last year with a renewed commitment to building our future,” said Executive Director Julia Truilo. “With that in mind, we will be rolling out a new destination brand and helping Ormond Beach businesses entice locals and visitors to our wonderful downtown.”
