Bookclosing Reports

What is bookclosing?

Twenty-nine days before an election, the voter registration books are closed for that election. Generally, voters who registered after that date are ineligible to vote in that election. The Division prepares detailed statistical reports on the number of active registered voters who are eligible to vote in the election as of the day of bookclosing. The reports are available in Excel and PDF format, and include a breakdown of voter registration by county and the following parameters:

  • By party
  • By race
  • By party and race
  • By precinct and party
  • By congressional district
  • By Senate district
  • By house district
  • By judicial circuit
