Darrin R. Williams

Darrin R. Williams, a native of Ocala, Florida, currently resides in Jacksonville, Florida, and is employed with Duval County Public Schools as the Director of Afterschool Programs for the District.

In 2018, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis recommended to then Governor Rick Scott the appointment of Darrin Williams to the regulatory board of the Division of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services. He was subsequently re-appointed by current Governor Ron DeSantis in January 2022. In 2020, Governor DeSantis appointed Williams to the State Advisory Board of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and in 2024, Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd appointed Williams to the newly-formed Historic Cemeteries Program Advisory Council.

Mr. Williams has worked in both the education and local government sectors in various leadership capacities, accumulating over 10 years of experience in teaching/case management, budget management, and project management.

Mr. Williams has strong civic engagement as a member of the FAMU National Alumni Association, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Grand Chapter Life Member, Southern Province Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He also serves as the 2nd Vice President for the Jacksonville Police Athletic League (JaxPal) and Terry Parker High School - School Advisory Council (SAC) Chairman. Additionally, he holds membership with the Florida High School Athletic Association and the Mid-Florida Officials Association as a sports official and former State Basketball Advisory Board member.

Mr. Williams is a proud and active member of the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he provides leadership as a member of the Board of Stewards and serves as the Church Secretary.
